Bit confusing on what you could in the pricing structure on the menu.
Food however was very good.

We don't quite know where to start with our praise for this beautiful country pub. From the gorgeous building and it's quiet secluded location to the stunning food. Our evening meals were to die for(especially the steak and ale pie with lovely gravy). The breakfasts were also delicious and plentiful and we all agreed we could have drunk a gallon of their orange juice!!
Getting onto the rooms. Both were spacious and to be left such a selection of drinks, biscuits and toiletries was a delight. The beds were lovely and comfortable and we all wished we could have stayed longer. The attention to detail like leaving a box of tissues on the dressing table and bottles of water as well as hot drinks all go towards making this a very special place to stay. We will definitely stay here again if we visit our relations again or if we just want to come for a holiday.
The owners were welcoming and attentive at all times. 10 out of 10. We would most definitely recommend this establishment to anyone.

Lovely town to explore. Gold Hill the main attraction but the streets at the bottom of the hill have lots of character and some thatched properties..We found a lovely millennium garden and a some interesting shops. Not so much to do on a rainy day around the area this time of year as the NT properties are not open yet so suggest visiting
March onwards.

Beautiful old town, cobbled streets, amazing views.
Beautiful old town, cobbled streets, amazing views. Gold Hill has to be seen (google Hovis advert) even my 20 year old was impressed. We had a wonderful breakfast at King Alfred’s Kitchen instead of eating at our hotel. We stayed at Grosvenor Arms Hotel, very central, no parking if you at staying but car parks are available. I live close to Arundel in West Sussex and it reminded me of the medieval history. Nice people, nice views, beautiful place to have a weekend away.

It is hard to give a review of Shaftesbury, having spent just an overnight in the town. From first appearances, though, this town and environs is well worth a longer stay to explore. The Restaurant, San Tonino, is well worth a visit.

I thought it was a gorgeous town and I definitely want to go back. The buildings are so old and the town is full of historical interest. We only had a couple of hours, after coming to visit friends, and it was pouring with rain, but we went to Gold Hill and had a lovely hot chocolate there, and visited a gallery, and just really enjoyed walking around. We saw a house which Thomas Hardy featured in 'Jude the Obscure' and a yew tree that pre-dates Christianity. We briefly visited the free Gold Hill Museum and definitely would like to go back there. Apparently in the summer there is a lido.

Very sad, especially for us older clientele.

Beautiful house in a perfect location 5 mins walk from the centre of Shaftesbury. The hosts were very polite and friendly, happy to engage in conversation, however not intrusive. Were very helpful when asked questions. spacious room with lovely shower room. Breakfast was amazing, excellent choice of really good quality and tasty food all beautifully presented.
will definitely stay again if we return to the area.
Very lovely property, spotlessly clean, quiet and with a beautiful garden. A very pleasant, idyllic walk to Shaftesbury's Gold Hill and the main street – we took trips to the bakery every morning. Check-in was seamless (lockbox with code) and the hosts very friendly. The apartment was bigger than expected. We had a wonderful time here and we look forward to returning someday.
lovely place in keeping with the aesthetic and feel of the the town. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Had lovely dinner and breakfast. Perfect English country hotel. Loved the email prior to arriving, we packed a small bag for the night so that we didn't have to lug our big suitcases up the stairs. Very considerate thinking ahead....
Fabulous Cottage-we stayed at the Crown cottage (2 bedroom house)! The host ensured we had all the help we needed promptly. We had a great time, the place is right in the middle, 2 mins to the magnificent Gold Hill (you cannot miss) and 10 mins to Castle Hill. If in Shaftesbury, do not miss this place!
The Lodge at Goldhill glamping was very comfortable and cosy and a brilliant tasteful little place to stay when exploring Shaftesbury and the surrounding area. We loved the log burner and the well equipped kitchen. The lodge was clean and nicely decorated and dog friendly too!
Breakfast was very good - plenty of choice.
We appreciated that staff found I had left my toothbrush and toothpaste in the room and they bothered to tie it to my car while we were exploring Shaftesbury. They did know we were leaving the car in the carpark for a little while.
It was really good. It was a wonderful way to start our break. The town centre was a short walk away with Shaftesbury itself being a very interesting town. We would not hesitate to return to La Fleur de Lys. Lovely room first class service and excellent food and wine
Brilliant location for exploring Shaftesbury and a very unique stay in a slice of history. Updown Cottage is well equipped, small but perfectly formed! Lovely touches like baby grand piano, cupboards full of games and good quality kitchen appliances and utensils.
When we last stayed with you in passing we were told that you were gradually decorating and refurnishing the hotel. It's quiet obvious that his has been carried out, and well done. We loved our room which was a lot more spacious than some. Lovely decor too.
Staff were very welcoming, menu choice was good and portions excellent. Servie was quick. Rooms were clean and tidy s were the public areas. parking was good and well lit at night.
