Vicenza is a wonderful secret gem located between Verona and Venice. The town exceeded my expectations of an old Italian city. Even though there is a US military base located there, the town is very authentic. The city is very user friendly and walkable. We rented e-bikes one afternoon that were fun to travel around on. We also did day trips to both Verona and Venice which were easily accessed from Vicenza.

Vicenza is a great city to use as a base when visiting Northern Italy. an hour from Venice, an hour from Lake Garda, and 20 minutes to Padova make it a perfect jumping off point. In addition, the city does not have the huge crowds of Milan, Rome, Florence, Venice and Naples.
I thoroughly enjoyed the architecture and wonderful mix of restaurants.

Vicenza has all the beauty and history of the great cities...
Vicenza has all the beauty and history of the great cities of the region, like Padua and Verona, but none of the tourists. It's much smaller and compact - you can walk from one side of the city walls to the other in 25 mins - but all the better for that. And the major attractions are the Palladian villas and civic buildings, both in the city and in the hills around the city, all easily walkable - no need for a car. It's a great base for exploring the other attractions of the Veneto by train: Venice in 40 mins, Padua in 25, Verona in 35 (and those are the cheaper regional trains, not the high speed Frecciarossa at 3 times the price but barely faster for these short-hop destinations). Not being a tourist hot-spot, the prices are lower: you can still get an espresso for 1 euro, and that was in the cafe (Caffe degli Artisti) next to the major draw of the Teatro Olimpico, Europe's oldest covered theatre. Superb variety of good value pizzas (and excellent beers) at the Pizzeria Vesuvio nearby. And for something different, go to the Parco Querini: an attractive park but what we didn't expect were the dozens of domestic rabbits hopping all over the place: brown, black, white, spotted, long-haired. Very surreal. Coypu too, swimming in the lake and water channels.

Vicenza is superb for about 3 day stay - to recover our tastebuds after Germany - and is charming for that period. There were a number of exhibitions and museums (and the Theatre Olympico is a must) together with pleasant food, wine and company

We were only in Vicenza for 2 full days so we went to the ticket office and purchased a pass to visit 4 museums/attractions. We used 3 on just the first day so went back for another 2 on the second day (6 in total). Each one was terrific and well worth a visit. There are endless cafes and restaurants so we were never short of somewhere to sit and relax and enjoy great food and drink. Also lots of great shops.
Our hotel was very central so everything was within easy reach. For those who record their steps each day, we did a bit over 10,000 each day - very manageable.
The host, Giacoma is great, the location is perfect to enjoy Vicenza, and the apartment is very nice, clean and modern. The main train station is just a short 15 minute walk and so is the downtown area. A great Interspar is 3 minutes away to stock up on groceries and there are a couple nice restaurants within a 5 minute walk as well. The host will check on you and offer any assistance you need. Great for a short visit or, like us, a military family needing a week or two awaiting more permanent housing. You won't regret staying here.
My family and I really enjoyed our stay at the Glam Boutique Hotel. The hotel is very lovely with a very unique and fun decor. The rooms were spotless and the beds were big. The breakfast was wonderful with freshly made cornetto, pancakes, waffles, rolls, all kinds of fruit, yogurts, cheese and meats. The staff were always very nice and helpful and ran the hotel very efficiently. Their recommendations for places to eat were wonderful too. And, we were within walking distance to most of the sites we wanted to see.
Space was excellent for the family, and we appreciated the crib, it was the perfect size for our son who is 12mos. The breakfast was great, a lot of variety and the customer service was excellent. I also liked the security and key entry. The hotel was stroller and wheelchair accessible which is unique in the area. We were walking distance from 4-5 restaurants, most open until 10pm. Very close and accessible to Caserma Ederle, 5min driving either direction which was convenient for the reason of my visit
The hotel is located in the pedestrian street of Vicenza, about 100 metres from Bisilica and 600 metres from the train station and about the same distance from the Teatro Olimpico. The hotel is ideally located in a beautiful area. The accommodation is modern inside, the rooms are clean and well furnished. The staff are friendly and helpful. The internal parking is ok, with the car being parked in a back yard by the staff. During our stay no negative things like noisy street etc.
We enjoyed our stay in Casa di Leo so much! Marco is a great owner. Everything were in time and without any problems. The location is great, very closed to the center of Vicenza. There were a lot of restaurants and bars. The big supermarket Spar is 5 minutes by car from the appartment. Marco was also very kind and sent me the keys from my flat in Prague, which I forgot in Italy by post. We hope to return back to this nice place.
The location is perfect, in the middle of the historic center of town, very close to the railway station. I enjoyed the atmosphere of the hotel: old and neat with efficient, minimal services. I would like to send a big THANK YOU note to the cleaning staff; my room was spotless every day. It is been a while since I have seen such a level of cleaning. Staying at this hotel made my trip to Vicenza unforgettable.
Everything. It's literally a five stars hotel masquerading as a four one. Staff is always super kind and accomodating at Every hour. Awesome parking. Classy clean rooms and beautiful roomy bathrooms. Also best continental breakfast for the price in Vicenza, I could sleep here just for that, been sleeping here for years and it never disappoints when I come to stay
Overall a nice room, with a separate, clean bathroom. Very well priced. The staff doesn't really speak English but knows how to use translator apps when push comes to shove. Very sweet otherwise. I brought my dog, which wasn't any problem. There is free parking in the back. I didn't try the restaurant/pizzeria that is associated with the hotel.
Our room was very spacious, beautifully decorated with wonderful bathroom facilities. The Staff were so kind and attentive throughout our stay in Vicenza. The hotel is only a short walk from the beautiful town and a situated in a quiet location. We were made very welcome during our 3 day stay.
I recommend Antica Pusterla.
My stay at this hotel definitely exceeded my expectations, it is a comfortable modern hotel, a perfect stay if you are on a business trip in the Vicenza area.
Kind and helpful staff, good breakfast nice rooms and free parking!
Ask for restaurant recommendations for the area…
Nice room, modern and clean, 10 minutes away from Vicenza's center by walk.
Parking is really easy, even if you don't get a space on the hotel's lot you have a bunch of streets to park around or the stadium's which is quite cheap.
We had a huge and tasty breakfast as well.
Room was comfortable and spacious. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Easy access to city center. The AC worked very well to cool the room at night. Very close to the train station. Gated (but not fenced) parking directly in front of the hotel. Pet friendly.
Centrally located.
Modern and clean.
Excellent bathroom
They have a working arrangement with a garage, which is easy to find. Get directions and use it - you are then just a 10minute walk from the hotel
This small hotel is located about a 10-12 minute walk from the historic center. The breakfast buffet was wonderful and the hotel staff is warm and welcoming. I would stay here again without hesitation.
A very elegant stylish room. Lovely bathroom. Very good location. Vicenza is the city where the great Palladio worked!
We left early and were unable to take advantage of the included breakfast.
